Brent Sheridan

EXECUTIVE Director

Brent is the Executive Director at the Centre for Applied Transformation. Brent has deep experience in the mining and metals, banking and finance, and large-scale infrastructure sectors where he has worked as an organisational development consultant and implementation partner.​

Beyond these sectors, Brent also has extensive consulting experience across professional services, local government, and FMCG. He has experience in operational excellence, organisational transformation, and leadership and cultural development.

He is passionate about supporting his clients to solve their toughest problems.​ His specialities include:

  • Clearing blocks to senior leaders' effectiveness
  • Collaboration and sustainable cross-functional working
  • Resolving dysfunctional power and political dynamics
  • Creating the conditions for high-performance through social processes, ways of working, and value-creating behavioural norms

His recent projects have included:​

  • Creating the conditions for high performance, innovation, and adaptability: Working alongside the CEO and senior team of a large manufacturing organisation to reset mindset, behaviours and social processes to establish trust, constructive challenge, and collaboration (after a long period of operational instability and cultural ineffectiveness.)​
  • Creating effective power and politics: Working with the executive team of a local government council to create new ways of working, leading, organising to be more effective, and delivering value to constituents.​
  • Developing ways of working for collaboration and innovation: Supporting divisional GMs and their executive teams in a global FMCG organisation to establish cultural and behavioural foundations for high-performance in preparation for a major global reorganising.​
  • Restructuring divisions and re-designing roles for effective cross-functional working: advice, education and skilling of executive teams to improve decision-making and to align functional divisions of a major insurer's digital transformation.​
  • Strategic alignment and integration for operational effectiveness and adaptability: Educating, skilling and facilitating the senior executive team of a major transport infrastructure operator, to redesign operating model to integrate project delivery into operational excellence, and improve customer outcomes.​

Brent has a deep passion for community and social cohesion and has works with local NFP organisations. He is a Management Committee member of Bridge for Asylum Seekers and has been a board member of similar organisations in the past.​

Brent has led large-scale and longitudinal consulting engagements in this and related methodologies since 2004. Prior to this, Brent worked in senior Learning and Development, Organisational Effectiveness, and Leadership Development roles in within large and small corporates.​

Brent has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Psychoanalytic Thought (Hons) from the University of Toronto and has undertaken post graduate studies in Gestalt Psychotherapy, Human Resources, Frontline Management, and Training and Assessment.
