Declan Brady

CO-FOUNDER

Declan brings 30+ years of leadership experience that spans technology, consulting, and depth-psychology. As Co-Founder of the Centre for Applied Transformation, he helps organisations tackle complex change by aligning structure, behaviour, and leadership mindset.

He began in UK investment banking IT, running large software programmes and adopting lean-agile methods long before they were mainstream. For the past 15 years he has advised executives across financial services, insurance, telecoms, legal, infrastructure, government, and NFP sectors, consulting to executives and teams on how to lead transformations. His approach integrates systems thinking with a deep understanding of human behaviour, enabling both structural redesign and leadership growth.

His recent projects have included:

  • Leadership & Culture Reset: Guided executive teams through high-stakes restructures, aligning behaviours with strategic intent.
  • Psychological safety & Trauma-informed Practice: Helped organisations address underlying relational dynamics to improve safety and cohesion.
  • Capability Building: Supported leaders to develop the mindset and skills needed for transformation in complex, uncertain environments.
  • Executive Coaching: One-on-one coaching for leaders facing internal conflict, transition, or leadership challenges.

Declan believes that no true transformation is possible without both inner and outer work. He brings clarity, calm, and honesty to complex and emotionally charged environments. His passion is helping leaders grow their own maturity while shaping adaptive, values-driven systems around them.

He also runs a private psychotherapy practice in Sydney, specialising in trauma, existential inquiry, and relational dynamics. He is a senior educator and supervisor at The Relational Institute Australia, supporting the next generation of psychotherapists.

Before founding C4AT, Declan held senior roles in financial services, where he built and led large technology teams. His transition into organisational development was shaped by extensive training in Gestalt Psychotherapy, systems theory and mindfulness practices.

He holds a postgraduate qualification in Gestalt Therapy and continues to deepen his work at the frontier of psychology and organisational transformation.
